This week's Challenge at Phindy's is inspired by a song/movie etc.  I chose this funny image from Phindy's stamps called LOTS OF LUCK TO YOU just the right image to work with the song below which is a blast from the pass 1968!

Song :  Lily the Pink by the Scaffolds

we`ll drink a drink a drink
to lily the pink the pink the pink
the saviour of our human race
for she invented, medicinal compound
most efficasious in every case

mr freers, had sticky out ears
and it made him awful shy
and so they gave him medicinal compound
and now he`s learning how to fly

robert tony, was known to be bony
he would never eat his meals
and so they gave him medicinal compound
now they move him round on wheels

we`ll drink a drink a drink
to lily the pink the pink the pink
the saviour of the human race
for she invented medicinal compound
mosr efficasious in every case

old ebineezer thought he was julius caeser
and so they put him in a home
where they gave him medicnal compound
and now he`s emporor of Rome

jonny hammer, had a terrible st st st st stammer
he could hardly sssay a word
and so they gave him medicinal compound
now`s he`s seen, but never heard

aunty milly, ran willy nilly
when her legs they did recede
so they looked on medicnal compound
now they call her milly bee

jennifer eccles, had terrible freckles
and the boys all called her names
but they gave her medicinal compound
now she joins in all the games

lily the pink she turned to drink
she filled up with parafin inside
and despite her medicinal compound
sadly picklilly died

up to heaven her soul ascended
all the church bells they did ring
she took with her medicinal compound
hark the herald angels sing

Would like to share with you this gorgeous new stamp from Elizabeth Bell but before I do - I just had an  eureka moment!  I have had my camera for 2-3 years now maybe longer - times flies so fast so it may be longer and I have to admit I do not know how to use it properly it's just a case of luck.  I find a setting that seems to work and I am happy with the results then for whatever reason I click on something and it changes.  Not knowing anything about my camera and a book for instructions I haven't a clue what I'm doing.

Last week I clicked on something and got a number scale up - changing it to "0" as I couldn't remember what it had been previously set on!  Well I know now - not in time for these photo's but it's a light meter and I have now set in to "1" so will have to try a couple of settings but I can't believe it - I've actually worked it out for myself!!!

Moving on and back to the subject in hand.   Yes Sweetpea do have so many new and old stamps to chose from and I couldn't wait to use this one.  How sweet is this little girl?  Reminds me of my son when he was little - boy was he quiet when playing in the sand as the beach!  Still nothing stays the same - he's now quite the opposite loving playing and listening to his heavy metal music at full volume!!

There I go again - side tracking!  So this is one of three newly released stamps by Elizabeth Bell from Sweetpea stamps.  This one is called SANDCASTLES but why not check out the others here.

Well I'm still hard at it - working through a pile of stamp images I've coloured but not progress any further with.

For this project I distressed the edges with distressing ink and used the Zutter to distress the edges - a 1st for me even though I've had the machine awhile!

I always struggle with male sentiments but thought this one was just right for this image - you can imagine him tutting!

USED:  Distressing
Stamps:  Crafters Companion (Christine Haworth collection)
Medium:   Copics, Prisma and Polychromo pencils, black pen, pva glue for faux pearls, distressing ink
Papers:    Portabella Road CD Rom
Dies used:  Spellbinders
Embellishments:  Twine, button, brads

I had this little girl stamp from Lily of the Valley coloured along with several more stamps from LOTV all in the same colour scheme.  Although the images had worked well using the Red, White and Blue - I was a bit perplexed when deciding on design, paper etc.

Decided to use jubilee papers from Papermania (CD Rom - Portabella Road) and distressing inks.  Although I think I have a style that is mine I do not like to use the same technique/style on all my projects.  There are many crafters I really like and recognise their work as I find they stick to very similar cards and only change papers, images and flowers in many cases.  This is no disrespect to them in any way it's just my preference to try different things and enjoy the crafting of new ideas and techniques.

This one definitely took me out of my comfort zone - not sure how much I like it yet - but I usually fined I like them better the next day when I've had time away from it.  It's like making anything - you see the mistakes but nobody else does!

Medium:   Copics, Primsa and Polychromo pencils, White gel pen, Black pen, distressing ink
